Amendments to fiscal and budgetary provisions

The Government has introduced a number of amendments to previously existing legal provisions, including the following:

  • Banking sector: starting this year, the tax on financial assets payable by banking institutions is repealed, with the amount owed for 2019 due by 25 August 2020.
  • Energy sector: among other changes, as of January 2020, all fees and contributions due to the ANRE (e.g. the 2% previously paid by electricity and gas license holders under Government Emergency Ordinance no. 114/2018) will be established by the ANRE on an annual basis.
  • Electronic cash registers: the deadline for implementing the use of electronic fiscal cash registers by economic operators has been extended until 31 December 2020 (the previous deadline was 31 December 2019).
