Job Summary

As a Tax Manager at TPA Romania, Cluj Office, you will play a key role in delivering and managing complex tax advisory engagements, while contributing to the strategic growth of our tax practice. Leveraging your solid expertise in direct taxes, VAT, and international taxation, you will be actively involved in high-value projects, providing tailored tax solutions and acting as a trusted advisor to our clients in a dynamic and international environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage complex tax engagements, primarily in the areas of direct taxes, VAT, and international taxation
  • Participate in tax due diligence and M&A-related projects
  • Act as a trusted advisor by providing technical guidance, reviewing tax positions, and supporting client decision-making processes
  • Monitor tax legislative developments and assess their impact on clients, proactively communicating relevant changes and practical implications
  • Ensure the quality, consistency, and technical accuracy of all client deliverables, in line with internal standards and professional best practices
  • Contribute to business development initiatives by identifying new opportunities, participating in proposals, and strengthening long-term client relationships
  • Coordinate and supervise junior consultants, ensuring high-quality deliverables and supporting their professional development
  • Continuously develop technical and consulting skills through on-the-job experience and formal training programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics or Law
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in tax advisory
  • Strong expertise in direct taxes, VAT, and international taxation
  • Good knowledge of personal income tax, social security contributions, local taxes, and accounting (considered an advantage)
  • Ability to monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on clients’ tax positions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Romanian and English
  • Client-oriented mindset with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working in multidisciplinary teams
  • Business development capabilities, including identifying opportunities and supporting practice growth
  • High integrity, proactive attitude, and ownership of the quality and accuracy of client deliverables
  • Enthusiasm and genuine interest in pursuing a long‑term career in tax advisory services.
  • Certified tax advisor qualification is considered an advantage
