Our History
Founded in 1998 by Jan Glas as Quintus, a Romanian accounting firm dedicated to supporting foreign investment, TPA Romania has evolved alongside the Romanian economy itself. What began as a local accounting practice serving international investors has grown into one of Romania’s leading providers of tax advisory, accounting, audit, legal and business consulting services.
A defining milestone in this journey came in 2007, when Quintus joined TPA Group and became TPA Romania. This integration connected the firm’s strong local expertise with one of the leading professional services networks in Central and South-Eastern Europe, creating new opportunities for growth, collaboration and regional reach.
Today, TPA Romania brings together more than 150 professionals in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. Combining deep local market knowledge with the strength of a regional network of over 2,100 specialists across 12 countries, the firm supports both Romanian entrepreneurs and international investors across a wide range of industries, including real estate, construction, renewable energy, technology, manufacturing, agriculture, transport and logistics.

Jan Glas – Founder
TPA Romania’s story is closely linked to the vision and entrepreneurial spirit of its founder, Jan Glas. Following an international career within a global Big Four firm, he relocated to Romania in 1997 with a clear ambition: to create a trusted advisory partner for international investors entering a rapidly developing market. One year later, he founded Quintus, laying the foundations of what would become TPA Romania.
As Managing Partner from 2007 to 2023, Jan played a pivotal role in the firm’s development, guiding its growth from a local accounting practice into a multidisciplinary advisory firm and strengthening its position within both the Romanian and regional business communities. His commitment to excellence, integrity, entrepreneurial thinking and long-term relationships helped shape the culture and values that continue to define TPA Romania today.
Even as the firm continues to grow and evolve, the principles established by Jan remain at the heart of TPA Romania’s identity: a client-focused approach, professional excellence and a strong belief in building lasting partnerships based on trust.
