Audit Manager

Job Summary

At TPA Romania the Audit Manager is responsible for leading and executing audit engagements for various clients, providing expert advice on audit and risk management practices. This role involves managing audit teams, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and delivering value-added solutions to clients and requires a deep understanding of audit methodologies, strong leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Our Audit & Advisory practice provides independent reporting to stakeholders. We perform:

  • Statutory audits;
  • Audits of the IFRS financial statements and reporting packages prepared in accordance with Group Audit Instructions;
  • Internal audits;
  • Agreed upon procedures;
  • Due diligence work;
  • ESG Assurance.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading and managing audit engagements from planning through completion, ensuring compliance with audit standards and regulations;
  • Design and implement comprehensive audit plans tailored to each client engagement;
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments, identify key areas of concern for clients and provide them with strategic advice on risk mitigation and best practices;
  • Provide expert advice on improving internal controls and operational efficiency, always focusing on the specific needs of each client;
  • Make sure that the working papers are properly completed and reviewed and the reporting is performed in a timely manner;
  • Build strong client relationships, effectively communicate audit findings, and address client concerns.
  • Supervising and mentoring audit staff, reviewing their work for accuracy, and fostering a collaborative team environment;
  • As a leader you will be responsible for maintaining an environment that promotes growth, collaboration, and high performance;
  • Foster a positive team culture, you’ll ensure that all team members feel valued, engaged, and motivated;
  • Optimize audit processes for efficiency, manage budgets and timelines, and stay updated on industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Ideally, you already worked in a large audit/accounting firm with a proven track record over at least four to seven years of delivering quality services and an in-depth knowledge of the International Standards on Auditing, International Financial Reporting Standards, Romanian accounting regulations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role;
  • Proven experience in mentoring, supervising, and developing audit staff by creating and supporting appropriate work assignments, applying proper delegation and providing coaching and feedback candidly and constructively;
  • Client service orientation combined with creative problem-solving skills;
  • Highly motivated, take ownership of personal and professional growth and development;
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACCA / CAFR / ASPAAS);
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in Romanian and English. Your communication skills will be essential as you prepare detailed audit reports and presentations, clearly conveying findings and recommendations to client management.
