The classification of occupations in Romania has been amended

On 4 June 2025, Order of the Ministry of Labour no. 1109/325/2025 was published in the Official Gazette no. 520 of 4 June 2025, introducing significant changes to the Classification of Occupations in Romania (COR) by including new professions already practiced on the Romanian labour market.

The updated COR includes:

• the introduction of 19 new occupations in various fields: technology, health, sport, education, agriculture, environment and animal care
• the transferal of an existing occupation (Chief Information Security Officer, CISO) to another core group so as to better reflect the reality of the occupation

The newly introduced occupations are as follows:
